I have the original images of the 1871 and 1881 census, which shows my great great grandfather, Henry Jory as being blind. He was born and lived all his life in Gwennap and was born around 1820. I would like to find out if this is something that happened to him when he got older or if it was from a younger age or birth. Is there anywhere on the net that I could view the original images of the 1841, 51 and 61 census? I have a written 1861 census, but it doesn't give me the info I need. All help would be very much appreciated. Many thanks, M.

Morfydd, where did he come from? You could put a request on the records office board for someone to do a lookup for you in that place...should be fiche of the originals. Good luck. Joan

Hi Joan, I have updated my message and posted it on the records board now. He was born and lived all his life in Gwennap. Thank you for your advice. I posted this reply earlier and it disappeared. M.

If you go to the GENUKI website, there is lots of interesting information, including the fact that there is census available online, and that there is an OPC. If you just google search for Gwennap, you can go straight to this (among other sites). GENUKI: Gwennap... The parish of Gwennap is situated in the deanery and Hundred of Kerrier. ...
