I think that you should search 1837online to prove the marriage before looking for a divorce or the possible return to Belgium. You could also look for any permissions that she may have had to be in this country - maybe this was a marriage conducted while grpa was in the army so you could also search army bmds. Od course, if you are in one of the counties that has its own online bmd that may save you 1837online cost.

Having just got home after meeting up with my dad's cousins for the second time (discovered through this web site) they informed us that pparently my grandad was married to a Belgium during/just after WW1. This person is not my grandma. Does anyone have any ideas where I might look, other than 1837 online to find the marriage/divorce. I presume they divorced as she returned to Belgium a few months after arriving in England. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Suzanne
