Marchhouse man - what is this?

I've just received a birth cert with what looks like Marchhouse Man as the occupation of the father. Anybody any ideas wat this might be? Denise

Thanks Heather, I think you're right as the first letter is the same as William now that I have had a closer look. Just shows you how easy transcription errors get made. In my title to this mail I wrote marchhouse with two H's, but there is clearly only one on the cert! Denise
