I would not have names of people on here who could be alive if I did not know them and did not have permission Someone once had mine without permission, would not delete it after having been asked, and I had to enlist the help of GR Abuse. Joy

Thanks Judith! Yup, it's there, in para 2 under 'Standard members' - should be under 'Full members' info as well no doubt! Liz

It's in the Privacy Policy. Scroll down to very bottom of this page and click on the word 'Privacy' ... a few paragraphs down: 'Important: Members must have, and continue to have, the express permission of any living person to include their details in a family tree. If a Member is asked to do so, relevant details must be removed. Members are the controllers of the information they input relating to living persons, and therefore have obligations under privacy and data protection laws (such as the Data Protection Act 1998). Genes Reunited acts as a processor of that information, at the behest of the Member.'

One of my family asked me not to add his name to my tree but now I find that someone unknown HAS put his name on this site, plus those of his whole family. I'm sure I read somewhere that permission has to be sought to add living bods but I can't find where it says it! Did I imagine it?!
