Having a really dull day, so a second (or third) pair of eyes needed to decipher some writing on Ancestry. 1871 census for Lambeth, London. Transcribed as George Chittlebargh (should be Chittleburgh) age 43, born Topcroft, Norfolk. That's the easy bit - Does anyone have any ideas of the Street name they are living at. Also trying to decide the birthplace of George, age 12 (Could it be Halesworth?) and the birthplace of Rosa. Any help will be much appreciated. Paula x

Hi, had a look on 1881, the address is still South Lambeth Rd Georges birthplace is given as Halesworth and Rosa's as Southwark (nothing like that on 1871 LOL) Christine

Hi Jeanette, I did say I was having a really dull day, LOL!! Hi Christine, I did check those on the 1881. Although Jane lived in Letcombe Bassett, she was baptised in Hampshire, which ties in with what she says on the 1871 and 1881. BUT still having problems with the birthplace of Rosa. From various census's, have Southwark, St saviour, and whatever it says on the 1871. Thanks for all your help Paula x

Just had another look and now think Rosa's birthplace looks like 'Christ church, Surrey' ... haven't come across an area in Lambeth called Christ Church before, so it's probably not! S:>
