Richard, Thats so kind of you, It does look a good possible, I will chase this one up now... thanks :)) Em. just seen your Alice... really excited now.. goodness knows where i was going wrong!! lol possibly the fact they may have had a child before marriage... threw me a bit! youve been brilliant!

many thanks for that Richard, i saw that too.... I did try the 1871 census.. she was born before this we think, but couldnt find her.

I am trying to trace the birth of Henry Wright 1868, Staffs, but do not know his parents names. He married Alice Mannering somewhere between 1884 and 1889, but again cant find a marriage. They had their first child in1890 (died in infancy... horace) then another in 1893. I have looked on 1871 and 1881 census for Henry, but without knowing his parents its a bit of a non hoper. so i have tried to find his marriage to Alice.... no joy either!He worked in Talke, Staffs around time of marriage then moved to crewe about 1897. They had 9 children in total, Alice was a school teacher before marriage and henry worked in the coal pits.... thats all i know. Can anyone help??
