Hallo, found this by googling: Clocks and clockmakers Guildhall Library houses the libraries of the Clockmakers' Company and the Antiquarian Horological Society. These provide both technical details of clocks and watches and biographical information on their makers. The records of the Clockmakers' Company are held by the Manuscripts section. The Clock Museum , also within the Guildhall Library building, houses a unique exhibition tracing the development of clocks and watches through the centuries. If you google Guildhall + clockmakers you should be able to download a paf (need Adobe acrobat to read) document with details of records held at the Guildhall. Then if you go to the REcords Office board on this site, there's a lovely lady called Lyla who does 'rainyday lookups' at the Guildhall. Ask her nicely and she may be able to help with your research. nell

Look at the Kellys or other Directories to see if you can find him in a particular area in London. Some are on www.historicaldirectories but not all are so you need to be living near London to be able to visit the Guldhall Library to check the Directories out. Once you have found him at an address you can then plot him forwards and backwards until the family business disappears. Janet
