I bought the collectors version and it says on the box there is a 30 day free trial, I am going round in circles with Ancestry trying to activate it. All I get is the One World Tree subscribtion page....I have even subscribed to that in the hope of getting another page to get the one I want...No luck... Any ideas....please??

I am glad it is not just me, I have had the same problerm. I hope someone can help because it has drove me around the bend. I too subscribed to One World Tree hoping I would get onto Ancestry that way. I will cancel that because I didn't want it anyway. Helpppppppppp!! Regards Jill

I've just had another email and they are now saying I will have to scan the receipt and e mail it to them, what a load of rubbish and I was going to do another subscrption with them too after the free trial

Hi Diane In your Family Tree Maker box there should be a small booklet with welcome kit written on the top of it. If you go to page 3 it has details at the bottom on how to activate your free trial. I used it just after Christmas and it worked fine for me. Don't forget to cancel after 30 days though, unless you want your subscription to be renewed. Jackie

Thanks Jackie will give it a go. Can't believe how unhelpful Ancestry have been about this. Dianex

Still only getting One World Tree, doing it that way too. I have already subscribed to it so I've no idea why it keeps going to that. What a bummer.

Hi I bought FTM2005 in January which included a 30day free trial to Ancestry and a 90 Day trial to One Tree And becuase I had already registered as a guest to Ancestry before I couldn't have the 30 day trial but I was able to subscribe to Ancestry.co.uk at a much reduced rate I have cancelled the 90 day trial because every time I tried to put details in about my Guernsey Marquand family the programme would alter them to some incorrect info put in by someone else After a few attempts I gave up Bren

When I bought FTM it said you got a sample pack of parchment. I tried ordering it and got nothing. I tried again and got a Paper Direct catalogue, but no parchment. Is this a ploy to get your address so they can send a catalogue, or has anyone actually got the parchment? David

I was supposed to get the 30-day Ancestry free trial & 90 days on OneWorld too (bought Dec 2004). However, I only got 14 days when it was processed and when I cancelled it at the end of the fortnight to avoid paying charges, it cancelled OW Tree as well. A bit of a fiddle, I would say! Jack

After a lot of e mails going backwards and forwards and me basically telling them what I thought about their suggestion I scan in the receipt and box front for them, they have said if I scan in the box front they will set up the 30 day free trial. I had never had a problem with Ancestry in the past. I have had a couple of free trials and paid for two quarterly subs. Never had a problem with cancelling or been charged when I shouldn't be, but this is just a fiasco. It is false advertising if you are being led to believe you are getting a bonus for buying and then being told you can't have it for one reason or another. I was going to sub for a year after the 30day trial, I am not so sure now.
