Hello Kath, I did find the 'widow'entry, but am not sure if they were separated or he was working away from home when it said previously 'separated from husband'I have found Elizabeth on most census's but not James and feel I have reached the end of the line with this railway labourer excuse the pun!unless I find where he was born. Many thanks for your info. Regards,Brenda

Is Elizabeth aged 52 on the 1871 census living 15 Callow? Lane. If so, I think her marital state is Widow. If you check the other entries the enumerator seems to write Mar, for married and W which looks a bit like an M, for widowed. Kath. x

I am trying to find the birthplace of James Harvey and maiden name of Elizabeth Harvey his wife married c.1840.Elizabeth came from Hasland Derbyshire but James 'born in county'no'' on 1841 He was a railroad labourer,he appears to be missing from census's and has Elizabeth 'Married but Separated from Husband'on 1871 census. I know its a long shot but can anyone out there work miracles!
