Hi, I have a marriage certificate for Charles fuller starting that in 1901 he is 31 but cant seem to trace his birth. He may have shown up on the 1901 census but it appears that the mother is a widow. Would the marriage cert still show the father and profession if deceased? Also how easy is it to view the birth certiicate of the chales named in 1901 as that should name the father?

I have a marriage cert for 1909 & 1906, there father is dead and it says that on the cert that he is, it also says his full name and occupation. have you checked the 1891 census for him????

Hi Nichola, I think I checked the 1881 census drew a blank. I can't remember if I did the 1891. The 1901 doesnt show the marital address so i assume it wasnt built at the time of the census! On the certificate, it doesnt show deceased so I assume then that he was alive and well in 1908!

The father being named on a marriage cert does not guarantee he was alive at the time, unfortunately! I have a marriage cert from 1908, father named and profession given, he had died 18yrs previously, it did not say deceased. English & Welsh BMD certs cannot be viewed online, only purchased @ £7 from GRO. Scottish certs however, can be viewed online

Hi, Charles FULLER's father was ARTHUR FULLER and he had a son of Thomas Robinson FULLER. I hope that helps? Hi Smiley, I assume I would need an exact DOB for a cert though?

Not exact date no, but year and quarter if poss, and a GRO ref would be better. This is the only Lincs birth during 1870/71 Fuller, Charles 1870 December Births Caistor Lincolnshire Volume: 7a Page: 571 Caistor included Grimsby from 1836 -1897
