Are either of these likely to be your Albert's sons: Winskill, Albert Edward 1904 December Births St Pancras Volume: 1b Page: 150 Winskill, Albert Henry 1901 December Births Manchester Volume: 8d Page: 197 You could get his first wife's full name from any birth cert of his children by that marriage. nell

If you get your parents' marriage certificate it will tell you whether or not Albert was widowed or divorced. It may even give his previous wife's name if they were divorced, as I have found this on a cert from 1949. If you can't find his first wedding on Freebmd then you will have to go through the GRO indexes until you do find it. When you have the first wife's name you can check for births registered with her maiden name in the index after 1911. You could also post on the trying to find board to see if you can contact any of your half-siblings or their descendants. nell

can anyone out ther help me. my dad Albert winskill was my father. he was born in 1888, his is last listed in the 1901 census. he had several sibblings one being a twin Fanny. I know he was married and had several children him self which would have been my half brothers and sisters, I am trying to find his first wife, as he later married my mam a marie sidlow who was also a widow with 6 children. there was a 25 year age gap when they married and my dad was 62 when he had me. I think there must of been trouble when they married as he never spoke about his past and none of his children ever came to the house. I never new I had half brothers and sisters until after he died. so if anyone could help it would be great thans Fran.
