Hi again Jane Go to this site: www.naa.gov.au Then go to record search, then search as guest. Put 'Ronald Henry Mead' into the search box. This gives two hits, the second one of which is a reference to your family's migration documents: MEAD Ronald Henry born 14 Mach 1923; Violet Lilian born 24 February 1923; Leslie Allen born 10 May 1958; Karen born 20 September 1963 - British - arrived per flight QF 174 departed London 29 June 1969 under Second Assistance Scheme You can apply online to have the records made available. It takes about a month, but they will digitise them and put them online for you - no charge! Therefore - it seems that Leslie was born in UK, not Australia. Also, Keith does not appear to have travelled with the family in 1969. As to their current whereabouts, none of the above names appear on the Perth metropolitan cemeteries website (www.mcb.wa.gov.au). If you think that they moved to South Australia, then there is a Les Mead in the phonebook (www.whitepages(.)com.au) - search under Residential - South Australia - Metropolitan. Definitely would be worthwhile giving him a call!!! Richard

You would be better off placing a trying to find message in the West Australian (our local rag). Newspapers are very parochial here, no-one in the West reads the Sydney Morning Herald! The West Australian has a similar 'trying to find' section - can't remember what it's called but here are the paper's details: West Australian Newspapers Newspaper House 50 Hasler Road Osborne Park Western Australia 6017 Telephone: (08) 9482 3111 Postal address: GPO Box D162 Perth Western Australia 6840 http://www.thewest(.)com.au/ You should also have a look at this page, from the Western Australian Genealogical Society. There's email addresses there for a couple of Perth people who are researching the Mead surname: http://www.wags.org.au/wasurnames/waslkq.htm#M Also, what are the names of the rest of the family that you're looking for? I'll see what else I can find. Richard.

There are six K. MEADs listed in the Western Australian section of the national 'White Pages' phone book for the Perth metropolitan area and another five listed for regional areas of the state, though none is showing K B initials. See... http://www.whitepages(.)com.au/wp/resSearch.jhtml ... where you can look them up for yourself. You might also try other states. Cheers, Bill Sydney, Australia

About 3 mts ago there was a major thread on Australia so it might be worth puting in a search under Australia and then contacting the authors of these. I know there is a phone book you can access on line, I think its called the white pages.
