Hi Helen Funny you should mention that, but every generation of Hoopers apparently were called William then George. I have to get the John. his first son was called William b1832 Tewkesbury. So it is also quite probable that John had a brother George or William. And that his father was most likely George or William. But not knowing for sure what county he was born in makes it even more difficult. Thanks any Helen. Lin

Have you checked BVRI for the marriage? Sometimes the parents are named on there. I'll check mine but it's only first edition. Probably need someone with 2nd. Update - nothing on BVRI 1.

What was John's first son called, may be a clue to John's father's name. Also names of any other children may help.

Hope somebody can point me in the right direction. John Hooper b c1811 Married Ann Roberts 21.2.1829 Tewkesbury Gloucestershire. Died 1846 Tewkesbury Gloucestershire. On the 1841 census apparently says he wasn't born in the county. British Origins haven't got a record of the marriage. How do I find out what county he was born. Any help knocking down this wall, I would be so happy. Lin
