What is a Flax Dresser?

Excuse my ignorance but what is a flax dresser and in what sector of industry would they have worked? Pauline

Hi just googled it , an this is what it says: Flax dresser, one who breaks and swingles flax, or prepares it for the spinner. Flax mill, a mill or factory where flax is spun or linen manufactured. Julie
