Deeping St. James would have been just a small village with 1 or 2 streets at best, Deeping fen was the area that was farmed, it is much the same today If you look at the map of that area it is not hard to understand. Roy

Market Deeping is about 5 miles north(ish) from Peterborough. Deeping St James is immediately to the east of MDeeping. Deeping St Nick is about 4 miles NE of MD. Deeping Fen is an area of land nearest to D St Nick. Check at www.streetmap.*co.uk

I believe they are all separate villages. Not far north of Peterborough. Deeping fen would probably be the fen land in the surrounding area jess

Can anyone tell me (or direct me to a source) about Deeping St. James and Deeping Fen? Are they interchangeable, or did one split from the other at a certain point? What about Deeping St. Nicholas? Thanks for any help or tips! Rebecca
