My grandfather was born illegatimately and there is no father's name on his birth certificate. His mother married three years after his birth and had more children and I would like to add this marriage and my grandfather's half siblings to my tree. I need to enter her marriage as 'add another partner'......this is fine, but how do I add her unknown first partner, father of my grandfather? It seems that place and year of birth is mandatory. What use is this when you haven't got a clue??? Sue |

I have had situation a couple of times and just put Unknown in all the mandatory boxes and an age similar to the one of the spouse in year of birth. Di |
