Elaine I doubt if anyone can help without a name! Is this a living person you are trying to trace, because putting it on the Trying to Find board would probably get better results. Also your thread implies Cumbria, whereas if this person went to London this widens your search considerably. You could also ask for a current electoral roll look up on the Records Office board, though if this person was a female they may well have a different surname now. I think you need to provide more info - name, what kind of work, etc. You won't be able to get info easily from marriage indexes, though if they died after 1980ish you may find their death on Ancestry. Also they won't be on a census.

Can anybody help with tracing someone from Cleator moore cumbria born in 1930. Went to work in London in 1961
