Problems with Ancestry New Image Viewer

The message about 'Active-X' is telling you that your copy of Internet Explorer has does not have Active-X support enabled. Active-X support is controlled by the 'Security' settings on Internet Explorer. If you have a personal firewall or some other security product on your PC, it may have configured Active X support off, as it is a one way that nasties may get onto your PC from some web sites. What version of Windows are you using, and do you have any virus checking products installed on it? By the way, I have found that images viewed and downlaoded through the new Ancestry viewer are a worthwhile improvement over the previous viewer. The downloaded images have slightly larger file sizes (by a few %) and have better clarity and contrast than those downloaded through the previous viewer! Cheers, Bill Sydney, Australia

Can't answer your question Patricia but I hate the new viewer. I takes ages to load the image. The old one was so much quicker Sarah x
