Hi Glen - you may be right, I have emailed my Ozzie cousin asking for more details. Thanks Hi Barbara - yes, that is them, thank you. I knew Ellen had died because I have a mourning card for her; it's beautifully embossed. New cuz was so excited to receive a scan of it! :-))) Jen

I'd guess the birth cert. has been transcribed incorrectly if it is a present day copy rather than a photocopy.

Esta, thanks very much. Just found an old message from my new cousin. He says the wedding cert of CEC and Eliza says Arnold, but daughter Lizzie's birth cert says Hood!!! Think I might have to leave this one a while (awaiting money for memory, subscriptions, software etc). Cheers for your help, Jen

Can't find anything obvious on 1871 for an Eliza Arnold. If you ordered the marriage cert that would give you more clues to try and find her on 1871 ( fathers name etc...) Hope it helps ( a bit ) Esta

Esta, thanks. In 1881 at Bessboro Place, Lndn, Mddx I have Charles Emery Caiger 38, wife Eliza 30, daus Alice 8, Lizzie 6, and son Charles 4. All birthplace Westminster except Lizzie is Putney, Surrey. I know about after that, it's Eliza's background I would like. Thanks for reading, Jen

Jen If you put the details of the 1881 census that you have then people can trace her in the other census'.......hopefully !! Esta

Hello, having a frazzled synapse moment. New cousin asked me to look into the family of one of our rellies but there's a doubt on her surname (Hood or Arnold). I have found her on the 1881 census with hubby & 3 kids but I can't find anything else. Think I've just lost the plot, any ideas on tracking her down??? Thanks Jen
