I found a couple under everitt but struggled for more then found a couple under everett and 1 under everatt. Jeeeessss snd im still some missing. Why did they have so many and why couldnt they stick to the same spelling on surname !!!! I am led to believe it is everitt but who am i to say! Ok my moan over Thanks for listening lol.

Oddly, in all of my hours of early Lincolnshire census trawling, I've hardly seen an EverEtt although nowadays, nationwide, I think it's the most common version. In the mid 1800s, 'EverAtt' was the version that tended to appear in the extreme north of the county (which would include Grimsby). There are few enough of us around to give us some optimism about finding them but enough of us to make things difficult!

Thanks for that clue you Ever*tts out there. I've just got a marriage cert for one of my Baileys who married an Elizabeth EverITT in Woolwich in 1868, her father was Police Constable William Everitt, but cannot find any other evidence of them at the moment. Perhaps I'd better look further North LOL. Thanks again. Jan

My Suffolk Everett family turn up at various times as Everett Everitt Everit Evered and a couple of Everards, depending on the whim of the parish priests in church registers and the census enumerators. It wasn't til I looked in the parish registers that I found the Everard variation as it doesn't turn up in Soundex searches.
