can any one find my sailor in 1871?

Henry Parrington, born 1854, shown as a sailor in 1881 and 1891, have not been able to find him in 1871. Could he have been at sea, if so is there any way I could find out? Many thanks |

If he is at sea, there are no censuses for that, only ships in port were recorded on censuses. Might be an idea to look into his regiment and see what they were up to c1871. |

Have you seen the baptism on the IGI, looks like your man, if he was born after April 1853 then on the censuses his year of birth would seem to be 1854, This is the parents of the Henry Parrington on the IGI, no Henry with them, maybe he was away at sea?
