Thanks Chloe, yes that is them....I hadn't thought about them all being at sea...possible as John was a captain! He became a publican after retirement. Maybe you have the answer there...thanks. Joan

Hi Chloe Thanks for checking. I can't find any of the family in 1891, however, I was sure I'd seen somewhere that Ancestry 1891 wasn't complete. I believe Thomas was lodging in Cowpen, Blyth in 1881 according to the LDS site. Searching 1881 on Ancestry never brought the same information up. However, I have found him today, he is there in 1881, being transcribed on Ancestry as Thomas Mc Donald instead of McDonald. I believe Ancestry could have a huge problem with this, as there are many transcriptions involving 'Mc' surnames where some have a space after the Mc and some not. Anybody else had this problem? Regards Gordon

The 1891 on Ancestry is complete. What are you trying to find? They might be mistranscribed.

Have tried searches for info on 1891 census for both Northumberland and Durham, but get little information. Does anyone know how complete the information is for these counties or when it will become available? Thanks Gordon
