Are you having problems finding a birth record for an ancestor whose father was in the army? Did you know there was an army register book of births and baptisms? Usually applies to children born abroad whilst their fathers are serving abroad but I found my g-grandfather on one even though he was born in Woolwich. Some of his siblings were born abroad. These books are kept at Kew but you can also view the records in the overseas section on 1834.com Yes you do have to pay but its very cheap. Think it was about 5p last time I used it. No I don;t have any connection with them at all. Its cheaper than going all the way up to Kew! Frances |
