There's quite a chunk of info about your grandfather on http://www.cwgc.org/ including: Son of Sam and Amy Louisa Bamford; husband of Clara Bamford, of Dalton, Huddersfield. Alternative Commemoration - buried in Lockwood (Emmanuel) Churchyard. And this might be useful eventually: http://www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk Though yours don't seem to be amongst the droves of BAMFORDs listed. But I only had a quick look. Christine

Yvonne Have you thought about looking for obituaries in old newpapers? There might be some from family members. They would be held at the records office for the Allcroft Road area. Jeanette x

hi im trying to find any relatives of mine, my grandfather was called arthur henry heaton bamford, he was an acting sergeant in the pioneer corps. he died 7th jan 1941. my father and i would love to find any relatives as we dont even have a picture of my grandfather. i know he had a brother called herbert heaton bamford who lived in the huddersfield area. his dads name was sam bamford and his mothers name was amy louisa bamford. we know sam and amy were married around 1897. herbert was born around 1900 and my grandad was born around 1906. he was 35 when he died. he died at allcroft road in london. we dont know how all we know is it was due to war operations. we would love to find out any info what so ever. please email me. we originate from huddersfield in west yorkshire.
