Six Generations

Some families have four generations, very occasionally you get a family with 5 generations, but I have just watched a short clip of a fmily with 6 generations, spanning from 1 month old to 96. If I have worked this out right, that must mean that the baby's great great great grandmother is still alive. If anyone wants to have a look at them its at http://nbc13.feedroom*com/iframeset.jsp?ord=290290 hope the link works. Perhaps when you've watched it, let's see whose great great great grandmother was born earliest on here, and imagine if she had been around when we were born.

6 generations - wow There's only 4 living generations in my family - my mother has a Gt Granddaughter. My my calculations, she'll probably have to wait at least 12 years for the next generation to come along (hopefully not sooner !!!), at which point she will be about 82

The only 3 x great grandparent for whom I have a fairly sure date was born c. 1749,- baptised November that year so I'm guessing his birth to be within the previous month or so. Ooh, I could ask him so much!

Wow! Kerry's family nearly had six generations!!! Six is quite incredible. Michelle, a grandmother at 34?!!? That's amazing too! Many people haven't had their first baby at that age. Try not to worry too much, I think it's great that they are keeping the baby and facing up to it, it will all work out so long as they are loved and supported. Think the youngest grandmother I heard of was 26, I did find a site which reported of a 17 year old grandmother, but I don't think there was any solid evidence, although there is a case of a girl of 5 years and 8 months becoming a mother. Think her name was Lina Medina if anyone wants to look it up. I would be interested to know what the record on living generations is though, I wonder if any family has managed 7. I have only 4 generations, my daughter is 18, I'm 37, my mum is 61 and my nan is coming up for 91. Don't want to encourage my 18 year old to get breeding and fast though! I'm amazed that there are mentions of 2 grandmothers younger than me on here though!

Tracy - I see you were a grandmother in your 30s too! Think since a lot of us look younger than prevoius generations now you do get reactions if you had your kids young. People are surprised if I tell them I have an 18 year old even though I am plenty old enough at 37. You can see them trying to work out how old you are, maybe because I have a 3 year old too they may subconciously assume I am younger. That's a point, I must be old enough to be my son's grandmother! Thanks for all your replies, have found them all very interesting.

The earliest gx3 I have found so far was born 1798, 166 years before my birth. I have only known one of my grandparents as both Mum & Dad were late babies. My grandparents would be celebrating their 103, 102, 115 and 119th birthdays this year.

god that makes me feel old - my dad would have been 97 this year....... FTM tells me that the average age of forbears is 74 ......, so I've got almost 20 years left. Search anyone ?

I just had to say how lucky you all are to have so many generations within your family. Sadly at the age of 40 i dont have any parents or Grandparents and so on still living. That is why doing my family tree is so important to me but also very hard as i have no one to ask question, so this site and others is a life line to me to find info on. a envious Shaz.

shaz, my husband has no one either....thats why i started to look into his family tree for him....doing this search has made me realise how lucky i am to have a big family and has made me decide to contact some family members that i havent spoken to in along time and make the first step...it also put a different prospective on becoming a nan at my age..so for that im grateful to this site...not having no luck with pauls family search but ill not give up yet lol michelle
