Can any body tell me how you go about becoming a transcriber. Looked on freeBMD and really do not understand what you have to do. The coordinators on there are not all from this country. Vanessa

Put transcribing in the topic search box and Jeanette should pop up...or her thread anyway! jess

It doesnt matter which country they are in as you do it all by the internet. You just go on the list and choose the top name and email them. Make sure you choose the list that does not require a microfiche viewer (unless you have one of course).

Hi Vanessa Look on Freecen --I need help thread --I will nudge it so you can find it. I transcribe for Freecen,if you go on their website, click on transcription's and you will see names of co-ordinator's for different area's to get in touch with. Good luck the more the merrier Ann

It may be easier to start on freebmd because a lot of the pages are already typed and its just a case of copying them!
