1911 census look up please?

Andrew I believe that you can request specific information from the 1911. You have to give a name and addy and they will only give you info about that particular person. You also have to have a very good reason - family nosiness is not considered a good reason. People who fill in their census forms are promised 100 years of secrecy. This was done to encourage people to tell the truth/fill it in. It was never intended as a Public Information Source and therefore 'they' can make any rules they like. Registration records however, are in the Public Domain and always have been and that is why they are accessible (for a price). I do agree though, it is infuriating, knowing that the information is there, just beyond reach...that which survives of course, ~I have read concerns about the quality of the 1911 census. Marjorie

If only we could, lol...would solve so many problems...oh well will just have to wait till 2011!!

To be honest, I do not understand why on Ancestry I can find marriages of people I went to school with in the 80s and their spouse name. I can also find records of people who have died only a few years ago. So why can't I see a census from 95 years ago?

Ok, I know this is not yet possible but it would REALLY help me out. Roll on 2011!!
