If you were adopted, the certificate in the name of Patricia Jones will have ADOPTED written on it. If there was no formal adoption through the courts, it wont Your original birth certificate WONT give you the name it was changed to Lou

If you know the area you were in when this happened social services should have a file that would help, you can also search for your original birth cert, that will give you birth parents names, named changed to if you were adopted you will have been re registered so you can look for a birth cert under the new name to sandra

Can anyone please help me, I am searching for my Birth Parents and rest of my family but not knowing if I was adopted or Fostered is confusing and dont know how to go about finding out..my sister doesnt know whether i was adopted or fostered..can anyone help me to find out whcih one i was.....the people that brought me up did change my birth name from Patricia Mary Jones to Christine Ann Pattison... Any help greatly appreciated Thank you in advance Patricia
