I am with Homecall for my general phone calls, which means that I pay 1p a minute for a dial-up connection. My phone bill is astronomical because I am on here for hours! Homecall offer Broadband for £24.99 a month, includes free general phonecalls. This would be much much cheaper than my present arrangement and therefore seems too good to be true! Does anyone have Homecall Broadband? I am not concerned about things being quicker, merely cheaper! Thanks Marjorie |

Hi, well I am with Homecall for my phone calls - I pay just under £12 a month and get free calls national and local 24/7 which I think is brilliant. On top of that I pay nearly £10 a month for the BT line. Its not just cheaper but I make calls when I want and how long I want for now. I will phone my dad or other relatives all on long distance several times a day without worrying about the cost. I got a letter about that broadband deal but as Im signed up with Wanadoo I havent bothered. I think its only 500 speed isnt it rather than 1000 that I have with wanadoo, not that thats a prob. I would have thought it would be a good deal for you. Do you have to pay BT on top for line rental? Check out how much time you are allowed on the net. Give them a ring or look at their website. But it does seem a good idea for your circumstances. |

Heather Thanks for your useful reply. I had not thought about internet access being restricted by time, that is a point to remember. I will do as you suggest and give them a ring - I just didnt want to change if there was some terrible drawback. My phone bill is running at something like £70 per month, which is £10 line rental and the rest is Internet Access at 1p a minute, no wonder my house is festooned in cobwebs. Thanks again Marjorie |

Hi Marjorie, I just looked at their website and it does say unlimited broadband plus free local and national calls so I would say it is a good deal for you. |

A lot of us cant get NTL as we are not in their area. I think Homecall is a good choice. I have been pleased with their phone service. |

Heather and Wee Scottie Thanks for your input. I have been satisfied with the telephone service but really need to cut down my Internet costs and this seems to be a good way of doing it. Plus, my long-suffering friends and family will be able to speak to me whilst I am on the Pooter instead of leaving me cross messages. I will let you know how I get on. Thanks again Marjorie |
