How do I find deaths after 2000 , 1837 does not go this far.

my local library has the GRO indexes but they only go as far as 1999. Not sure if the FRC in London has them any later

Ancestry have got to 2002 if you give me detail i'll have a look

There is always a delay of a few years, partly because it takes time to bind, scan and distribute the index and partly because of privacy. I take it you know the exact date of death - you almost certainly won't be able to order such a recent certificate without it! Try the register office where the death was registered; they don't require the GRO reference.
