How do I find deaths after 2000 , 1837 does not go this far. |

my local library has the GRO indexes but they only go as far as 1999. Not sure if the FRC in London has them any later |

There is always a delay of a few years, partly because it takes time to bind, scan and distribute the index and partly because of privacy. I take it you know the exact date of death - you almost certainly won't be able to order such a recent certificate without it! Try the register office where the death was registered; they don't require the GRO reference. |
