Jeanette The records for that church are held at the Guildhall Library. If you go to the Records Board and find Lyla's thread entitled Rainy Day Guildhall Library and post the details, she will be able to look up the entry in the register for you Lou

Hi Jeanette - there won't be a GRO ref, you're in 1824 and registration didn't start until 1837.

Its too early for there to be a certificate - registration didnt start til 1837. You will have to contact the records office and ask if they can photocopy the entry and send it. Have you checked Pallots on ancestry? A lot of the entries have images.

Civil reg didn't start till 1837 so birth/marriage certificates don't exist before then. You'll need to look up the entry in the parish register which will be held at the nearest records office to the church Lou
