Kerry I have had a look on 1837 on line. There are no deaths recorded between 1984-2002 for a William Hayes with dob of 12/4/1943. Therefore there is a possibility he could still be alive, have died prior to 1984 or alternatively moved to another country. Don't know if you have already tried this approach.... Your mail indicates that you know he had 3 daughters and you know approx their ages. If you go onto 1837, download and save the images for each of the years and quarters. Then see if there are three daughters in that period with the surname HAYES and the same mother's maiden name. If you do find the daughters you may be able to ascertain the potential maiden name of the second wife. Again 1837 should be able to give you the marriage reference so that you can order the marriage cert - the marriage cert should have an address on it and this may help in limiting your search. Also have you tried Allan Green's thread on the records board about 60 million current names? Just some initial thoughts which you might have already tried. Karen

Kerry If he is back in Ireland I don't think it will be very easy to find him, especially as you don't even have a town to go on. And he could have died, of course. nell

Right I am determined to knock down this stupid BIG brick wall. Am searching for a William Joseph Hayes born 21st April 1943 His mother was Anne Hayes(nee Berry) born 1910 His father was Thomas Hayes also born 1910. He married my grandmother Bridgett Hayes(nee Kearney) It is believed they moved to London,. My father William Edward Hayes was born in Hammersmith,London on 13th December 1964 A few years later my uncle Tony was born although people say my uncle and father have different dads, William being my fathers, father. Bridgett was an alcoholic and returned to Wexford,Ireland. William decided he couldn`t cope with my father and uncle and took them to social services in London where they were later returned to family in Wexford, Ireland. He has had no contact with family, he fell out with his brothers and sisters. All we know is that he remarried sometime after 1968 and apparently went on to have 3 daughters who no would be 28,30 and 32 years old. I have been to 192 and wrote of to the William Hayes`s I found, I got some replies and none were my grandfather. So I have no idea where to go from here. Apart from hit my head on this BIG wall!!!!
