Thanks for all of the tips and advice. Hope my hotel isn't 'your Grotty litte pub', but then again if they have got feather pillows on the bed I will do just fine.....and a 'Beano comic' would make it extra special (It's funny how you get addicted to comics again when you have children who leave them in the bathroom!!!)

I've just been to Ireland for a long weekend (Thurs - Sun) and it cost over £200 for the ferry from Holyhead. One night in Dublin (for 3 people) cost 140 Euro and the 'hotel' was a tatty pub!! Dublin National Library is brilliant though. You see a 'helper' first and tell them what you know and what you need to know and they advise you where to look. Happy hunting. Lyn

National express coach London Victoria to Dublin (including Ferry) cost me £29.00. Thought this may be of interest to anyone wanting to search records in Ireland. I booked it a month ago,and am going on the 28th (all being well) If you book over a month in advance you get the lowest price. But now it is 'spring' it may be slightly higher.
