Member Since: April 2003 Posts: 2,521 Send Message	Elizabeth That is all you get on a marriage cert in England and Wales. Were they in the country in 1901? If so you will find them on the census. That will tell you were they were born, but it probably just says Italy. My hubbys Irish ancestors just have Ireland on the census, not where in Ireland. Margaret

Member Since: December 2004 Posts: 7 Send Message	Does anyone know if civil registry office marriage documents ( marriage banns) holds the same information as church records?. My g/father Alessio Tarditi and g/mother Erminia Ronchetti came from Italy to London and were married at Saint Peters Italian Church in Clerkenwell Road in 1906. I have their marriage certificate which obviously just gives basic information -eg; address of Alessio, 9 Wilmington Square Clerkenwell,address of Erminia , 3 Little Bath Street Clerkenwell. And in addition it only states both their fathers names and occupation. What I'm trying to search for is any documents which would state their birth town or region in Italy. So this is why I was thinking that maybe marraige banns would state that information. They never became or applied for british citizenship.
