Hi Think I am feeling a bit thick tonight!! I have found a relatives marriage on FreeBMD site - and when I click on the page number (to find out the spouses name) it bring up a total of four names. How do you match up who married who? Christina

Christina You cant unless you buy the cert. But, if you have a first name perhaps from a census you will have a fair idea of which one. Unless they both have the same first name of course. You do only need one name to order a cert. If you look on the GRO site, where it asks for names. Only one name is mandatory. Margaret

Christina Just quote the brides name on the cert order. If you try to guess and get it wrong you will lose £4 of your money. As I said before only one name is mandatory. It states in red at the top, either the mans or the womans name. Margaret
