Going on...I remember reading somewhere that the record office have the census for Brinklow from 1801 and they are much more informative than the others. I know William and Sarah did not go to Brinklow until 1814 so I have emailed Warwick record office and asked if they have 1821 and 31. At least I may be able to tell if William was at home then.

No. Can't find her death either. She was on the 1851 census aged 69 lsted as head but not shown as a widow. She was also shown as a domestic servant and we believe that although not 'well off' when William was there she would not need to have worked so was obvioulsy having to support herself. I'm just wondering if she may have gone to her sons in Staffordshire or home to Oxfordshire but Sarah Henely entries on bmd's are legion and I would have to spend a fortune buying certs.

Pat - any record of the wife remarrying?

About 6 of us from various family branches have been searching for him for years. We don't even know where he was born!! He appears to have dropped into a marriage from nowhere and then disappeared again. Name William HENLEY born between 1780 and 1790 we think, his wife was born in 1782. Resident in Brinklow, Warwickshire in 1824, then disappears. No death on parish register.

My 4 x grandfather is missing, totally. Last child born in 1824 non appearance on the 1841 census, no apparent death. I am wondering if he may have been transported to Australia for some offence. I have looked on every site I can find and he does not appear. Can anyone help me??
