On 1901 census Albert Edward Welbourn born 1897 in Grantham, and anything about his family shown on the census. I've a feeling his father was Samuel Welbourn. Thanks in anticipation Karen

Hi Karen Could this be the one? Mistranscribed as Wilbourn although looking at the image, it could say Welbourn, although the father's name is different I can't find any other that matches. I have been looking as well, there are several Welbourn families in grantham, but no straight matches, the mistranscribed one is the best bet. The only samuel welbourn from grantham is living in nottingham, but he has no son of the correct name

Karen, It definately should be WELBOURN. I have found the births of two of the other children, Hilda A and George W, both registered as Welbourn. Sam

That is the correct family listed above then i would say 'mistranscription' means incorrectly typed up from the hand written copy - which seems has the correct spelling hope this helps you jess
