Karen i spent 2 hours yesterday doing lookups and not one thankyou, but i'm sure our efforts are appreciated, and the people just get so excited that they forget. I haven't got any from scotland otherwise i would ask for your help and thankyou. happy hunting sandra

Val - thanks! Debra - have you tried Scotland's people? If you know the exact birth date, you may find that hers is the only one of that name on that date. If you can get your grandmother's marriage certificate it may give parents depending on what year she married, then you can isolate the birth easier.

After all that has been said recently regarding thanking people for their help on this site I'm really fed up that yet again my attempts to help are ignored. Bad enough to get no acknowledgment but particularly grating when the person responds to others on the thread. Obviously my info was not of use but a quick acknowlegement of the look up doesn't go amiss. Takes me a while to pluck up courage to contribute in the first place as I don't want to sound like I am in the same league as those more experienced than me, if it wasn't for the terrific help others have given me on here I'd give up. Apologies for dumping this but otherwise will fume for the rest of the week - moan over
