Mistake on Ancestry.com - does this happen often?

There are numerous errors on Ancestry. I've reported several myself and, as yet, no updates have been carried out by them. I'm also having huge problems with access to Ancestry through my FTM, even though my subscription is still valid for months yet and all I keep getting from Ancestry is patronising responses to my e-mails thanking me for contacting them, not helping me in the slightest and then telling me contact them again at any time. Unfortunately, since they are in US I can't get my hands on them. Jan :-O

Unfortunately they only accept errors re names wrongly transcribed at the moment - they tell me that they are planning to allow for place name errors reporting in the future. I can then put my Thadwete (Shadwell) and Deptford Kenya (kent) right.

Too many times to count! If you do see an error, send an error report. It should hopefully get it fixed :)

I was checking all the Thomas Palmer's and initially ignored a born in Ireland believing this was unlikely but having exhausted all else decided I ought to give it a look. When I viewed the original census page Thomas Palmer was actually born in Yorks, Wortley - the person two lines further down was born in Ireland. Therefore, I presume this was a transcribe error.
