Please can anyone tell me how to find marriages taken place at gretna green please. Is there an equivalent to 1837?

hi all, been on the two links above and i can't find what i'm looking for. Where can i go from here. i know this rellie got married at gretna but drew a blank. can anyone help please

I am not sure but Gretna Green may come under Scotland try scotlandspeople you can get free search worth a go

You can still do free search on home page before you sign in it will tell you how many with your name on site

Gretna Green is in the county of Dumfries and Galloway I think. (I got married there and remember having to send to Dumfries for a copy of MY cert. I was married in 1996.) HTH. Claire xx

Hi Jules, you wouldn't find a marriage that recent on Scotland's People, as marriages only go upto 1929 on there. Perhaps you could post asking if anyone is going to GRO in Edinburgh, who could look for you. best wishes Christine
