There's a Kilmington about 6 miles east of Evercreech. It's juuuust on the Wiltshire side of the border with Somerset but it's possible that parts of the parish were in Somerset.

Hi Sined is it the family on the 1881 at the Church Manor House Thomas age 37 b Evercreech Brewery Clerk Ann age 40 b Hilmington Dau Elizabeth age 11 b Shepton Mallet Etc... If so on the 1871 Draycot Shepton Mallet Thomas age 28 b Evercreech Carter Ann age 30 b Shepton Mallet Silk Weaver Dau Ellen age 4 b Shepton Mallet. Dau Elizabeth A age 2 b Shepton Mallet I have looked on the old maps at Shepton Mallet and cannot find a Hilmington maybe it was a name of a row of cottages or something like that. That is why it cannot be found on any map. Colette xxxxxxxx

On all census records it says Hilmington but don't know anything else, so cant confirm if it is Warwickshire or not! Thanks for the sites, will try it now. thanks to you all Sineadxxx

Could it be Ilmington, Warwickshire? (a few miles south of Stratford on Avon)

Hi, I just googled Hilmington and a page came up ref the Haines family living in Hilmington Warks on the 1851 census, not sure if its the one your looking for though.. Debbie

help!!!! I have an Ann born in Hilmington in 1841 and I have no idea where it is!!!! I have a possible marriage in Whitchurch S and she def married a Thomas Roles From Evercreech,Somerset. Where is Hilmington?Please?! Is it close to Whitchurch S or Evercreech or do I have more problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Sineadxxx
