Hi can anyone tell me why Mounted Police would be in Cornwall in 1936? Or would it have been usual for our police to be mounted, looking for my Grandad with very very little info Help I'm searching for a needle in a needle stack I think!

Lisa Policemen used horses as transport before cars (and they still do use horses). But they wouldn't be Canadian in Cornwall. What exactly is the information you have and what are you trying to find out? nell

Shaz, my dad was taken to see his dad, was only told that we was a mounted policeman, I am thinking when someone says mounted police you think of canada. I think he could have been English?
