i believe they married in horsham, but i could be wrong. my grandad (his brother) only remembers the most unhelpful areas! bless him. the only info i have is; Donald ryman (son of benjamin and lillian ryman (nee virgo) born 1920, horsham west sussex, married in 1942 to Beryl danby. He was a private i believe in ww2. Janine ryman born 1950. then by 1964 they had vanished. they were leaving my grandparents house said 'see you soon' and that was it never to be seen again! wierd.. regards corrina

Cumberland is the north-west, above Lancs (where Liverpool is). You can find it by looking at a map online. As to where they met, do you know where they got married? The marriage cert would have their occupations, which might be a clue. nell

Thanks, Cumberland?? where does that cover (not very good with areas!) i know they lived in carlisle for a time, and janines mother (beryl ryman nee danby) came from liverpool i think, Donald (my uncle) was born in horsham west sussex. god only knows how they met! corrina

Many thanks Nell, In the 1960s were the borders pretty much as they are today? having so much grief tracing the family. Donald was in army with his brothers, but cant find any reference to him at all! Men!! many thanks again Corrina

I have a birth in 1950 (april - june quater) it says under district BORDER where could this be? i am hunting for the were abouts of an uncle and his family that went missing in the 1960s without trace. it has been a family mistery as no one ever heard from them again. regards corrina
