Thanks Peter. He was Arthur Douglas Machin Died 16 July 1944 aged 23. I know that he's buried in France (if you search the War Graves site he's on there). He was with the South Staffordshire Regiment, 5th Bn. Do you need anything else? c x

You could also check out his regaments museum thay might have his story as part of there history. If you whant You could put his details on the board and see if any one knows any thing or is willing (like me) to search the web for any thing.

Hi, My G Uncle was killed during the 2nd WW. I have found an article in our local newspaper that says his commanding officer was going to put him forward for a medal as he carried on fighting even tho he was badly injured. Is there anywhere that i can look which will tell me if he was ever awarded anything. Cheers c x
