I'm feeling a bit thick! Can someone please explain what the charges are for the 1901 census on line? Is it £5 for a session, whats a session, and if you want to view pages is that more? Thanks Lisa

Hi, A session lasts 48 hours. Remember to suspend the session or you will lose your remaining credits. Images cost 75p each. It's better to look at the image rather than the transcription as there are errors. Ancestry has most of the 1901 census so if you only need one or two it's worth asking on the records board for a look up. Gwynne

It's a minimum £5, but you set your own maximum. £7.50 will give you ten image views, but if you only view eight then you'll only be charged for eight.
