If someone could have a peek at the following and tell me if I am being too hopeful. !881 census, London, Shoreditch District 20 page 13. Halfway down the page is an A E E L de ? In your wildest imagination could you see this as a mistranscription of Tocqueville?

Janet, Do the other details fit in with him being one of your relatives? Crista

Hi all, thanks for your opinions. The name is a definate mistranscription. ( Goodness me, an error, never!)The problem is, his name should be E A, he was French, his children were all born different addresses in the vacinity(within a couple of streets) and as for occupation well he was skin dyer/ tavern cook/ chef. I don't know if he was even in England at the time. I was trawling the area looking for his 'wife' whose probably there but mistranscribed. I think I'll keep him in mind for future reference. Forgot to say he appears on 1891 as Longueville and he dies in 1892.
