Suggest you look at cyndislist.com and then all the links on Sweden. Unfortunately his name is the most common Swedish name of them all - probably the original name was Svensson. I live in Sweden but know very little about family history research here - just that Sweden has very good parish records. There are hardly any boarding schools in Sweden so I think it's rather likely that he went to Sigtuna school which is just north of Stockholm. If you know his full name and approximately when he went there they might have old records. Here is its address: PO Box 508, 193-28, Sigtuna, Sweden. Just had a thought - his marriage certificate should give his father's name and occupation. That might give you some more clues.

My grandfather was born in sweden under the surname swenson, then came to england aged 18 and changed his surname to krilovs. Where and how do I start looking for info on his parents and siblings? Unsure which part of Sweden he was born in, only know he went to boarding school in Stockholm. Many thanks in advance to anyone who replies.
