A message was posted on B-G site (sorry I thought it was here) I've cut and pasted it for you Research-UK unauthorised money withdrawal There have been a number of messages around the mailing lists about unauthorised withdrawal of funds being made from credit card and bank accounts, all connected with the company Research-UK, now bought by Ancestor Detectives. This is serious enough to warrant a List message for the benefit of anyone so affected. However it is not for List discussion, please. Sussex Police are dealing and will collate all reports on this. The contact is their Crime Recording Investigation Bureau on 0845 6070999. There is an email address [email protected] , but as they apparently have only one person dealing with email, and 50 on the phones, they suggest those in the UK use the phone. I don't have any more information but will endeavour to help Off List if the above information proves insufficient. update They also run the site www(.)gro-certificates(.)co(.)uk people thought this was the real GRO site. Have found thread on Record Office and will nudge for you Keith |
