Noticed that Florence A. was also born Basingstoke .... unless the enumerator was lazy and said 'ditto' after Robert .... BUT If she was born where I saw that George chap in Nately Scures, this could be her .... which would be a definate link to him ... if you follow me ! Created 1st July 1837. Annies maiden name listed on my grandfathers birth certificate as Robinson. Having same trouble as you with finding records. I am sure that 1901 census is the right family as their eldest child was definitely Florence. No surviving children left, my mum (grandchild of Robert & Annie) does not know anything about this side of the family other than the childrens names. I think I might send for a copy of the marriage cert you have found in Staines. Seems a possibility? Thanks for your help, I will just have to keep delving and hopefully come up with the answers.

Are you 100% sure that:- 1. Annie's maiden was Robinson ? 2. She didnt use another christian name for marriage ? cos this is the only Annie who married a White, Robert George between 1897 and 1901 ... Can anyone help me. I am fairly new to family history but so far have done quite well, but there is one side of the family I am having trouble with. My Gt Grandfather was Robert George White, I have found him on the 1901 census living with wife Annie and daugher Florence. I cannot find any other record for him or Annie though. The census states his place of birth as Basingstoke and Annie as Hanworth. On my grandfathers marriage certificate Gt Grandfather is shown as jsut George White. Has anyone got any ideas ?
