Hi Debby I can't speak for years ago because I don't have any Somerset ancestors that I know of ... but today, Mere is definitely in Wiltshire - on the border with Somerset and Dorset - and Kilmington is in Somerset. Mandy :)

Help! Found a few rellies last night - on some censuses it says Mere and Kilmington are in Somerset - on others it says Wiltshire and some Dorset, Somerset & Wiltshire! Just googled it and it says from 1837 it says part of Mere were in all 3! Which should I enter on my family tree? Debby
